After the support of a doula during the birth of my second child, I realized that I wanted to become a doula myself. Having someone in my corner that supported me and helped me advocate for myself was such a gift. I knew that I wanted to be that for others! I am a full-spectrum doula (meaning I support birth, postpartum, and loss). I completed my training and certification with Birthing Advocacy Doula Trainings.I have also been a volunteer doula serving low-income families with the local nonprofit, Community Doulas, since 2023.
I am passionate about supporting all birthing people and have a particular interest in supporting individuals with birth trauma and/or high-risk pregnancies including VBACs, birth of multiples, and those who expect to experience a NICU stay. My first child was in the NICU so I know that world well.
I also care deeply about perinatal mental health and have personal experience with postpartum depression and anxiety. I am not a mental health professional, but I can help connect you with resources and support.
In addition to helping families prepare for labor and birth, I work with parents during pregnancy to create a plan for postpartum including meals, sleeping arrangements, and exercise/movement.
I serve the Greater Portland, Maine area and support expecting parents during pregnancy, birth & labor, and postpartum. I also support families experiencing loss.
